About Membership
The Franchise Association of South Africa is a non-profit organisation which was established in 1979. It is the only officially recognised representative body for franchising in South Africa and is a longstanding member of the World Franchise Council. Membership of the Association is voluntary.
How to Join
Membership of the Association is open to almost all sectors of the franchise industry – Select the appropriate membership category that you are interested in from the drop-down menu and click through on the link – under each of the membership categories, the membership application process is explained in a step-by-step format.
Why should you Join?
Franchise companies that operate in accordance with ethical business practices and comply with the legal and regulatory requirements of the South African business landscape should be recognised for their compliant business policies in the franchise industry. Membership of the Association gives credibility to franchises that have provided the Association with a written undertaking to abide by its Code of Ethics which is derived from the Code of Ethics set down by the World Franchise Council. South Africa has been a long-standing member of this world body.
What does it mean to be a member?
Membership provides a clear distinction between ethical and compliant franchise companies and the rest of the industry. Potential franchisees, funders and landlord’s prefer to deal with accredited members of the association as membership provides risk mitigation and comfort to stakeholders and potential franchisees.
