The Franchise Association of South Africa signed an MOU with sefa to assist franchisees who apply for funding with sefa.

The Small Enterprise Finance Agency or sefa provides financial assistance to eligible SMME’s that intend venting into business including franchising.  Sefa is a development funder and not the same as a bank.
Sefa published their general requirements, qualifying criteria and considerations for applicants

 

sefa is an implementing Agency of the Department of Small Business Development (DSBD). The primary mandate of sefa is to provide development finance to SMMEs and Cooperatives. sefa has identified franchising as one of the growth areas that can foster SMME development and address the triple challenges of unemployment, poverty and inequality. sefa provides funding to entrepreneurs that wish to start, expand or acquire businesses. Funding can be provided either through the direct or wholesale delivery channels.
