Burger King signs roll-out deal with Sasol
As part of their expansion plan, Burger King South Africa has signed an agreement with Sasol to open fast-food outlets and restaurants on Sasol's forecourts with the first one scheduled to open by the end of the year. The deal includes company-owned outlets, as well as franchising opportunities to current and potential Sasol franchisees. Burger King South Africa, a joint venture between Burger King Worldwide and Cape-based JSE listed group Grand Parade Investments (GPI) with interests in tourism, gaming and leisure, opened its first successful restaurant in Cape Town in May this year, currently have 3 outlets in Cape Town and plan to open in Gauteng late this year or early next year. Both Burger King's SA CEO Jaye Sinclair and Sasol Oil's MD Alan Cameron believe that the partnership will support both their expansion plans and the collaboration will allow the two leading brands to leverage each other's strengths and capabilities.
