FASA's 2013 seminars help franchises stay ahead of the game
At FASA's first seminar of the year, the overriding message was one of determination by the franchise sector to fight against all the odds to succeed in the current business environment and continue to lead in innovative entrepreneurship.
Always cognisant that economic upheaval does stimulate innovation, Andre Rosslee, Sector Head of Sectors & Franchising at ABSA and a sponsor of the FASA Seminars, confirmed that franchising continues to play an ever increasingly important role in stimulating entrepreneurship and small business development. “What we also recognize is that the business environment has changed and doing things the old way often doesn't work. In the same way that franchising is known for staying one step ahead of the game, the ABSA franchise division is committed to the growth and prosperity of the South African economy and recognises the vital role played by the franchise industry in creating new wealth and employment opportunities.”
Presented by some of the most respected and experienced professionals in the franchise industry, the seminars will cover topics crucial to the success of businesses, whether as a franchisor or franchisee. The first seminar had as guest speakers, Mpho Lakaje, international award winning producer of the TV programme ‘Against all Odds' and adventurer extraordinaire Peter Van Kets - both of whom had achieved extraordinary things and made the impossible possible.
FASA, together with sponsors Absa, with a vested interest in supporting franchise growth, SA Franchise Warehouse, South Africa's most comprehensive franchise industry guide, Unique Speakers Bureau, with their formidable line-up of motivational and business speakers with Paul Rotherham as the competent and entertaining Master of Ceremonies, will be hosting seminars throughout the year.
