Legends barbershop joins uber eats platform

Innovation to drive awareness to more than 150k Uber Eats users
Uber Eats is thrilled to announce its latest partnership with local business success story Legends Barbershop. In 2021, the barbershop celebrated its 10th year anniversary by opening its 50th store. The brand will officially join over 7000 merchants on the Uber Eats app.
According to a statement released by Uber Eats, users can now have their favorite Legends Barbershop hair products and accessories delivered to their doorstep in under 45 minutes. Legends launched seven stores on the app across Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban and Cape Town with the plan to expand to other areas in future. The service will be available across the following stores Menlyn (Pretoria), Florida Road and Ballito (Durban), Northriding (Johannesburg North), South Gate (Johannesburg South), Vincent Park (East London), and Long Street (Cape Town).
A truly South African story, Legends was born from the dream of one young South African, Sheldon Tatchell, who dared to follow his dream and become an entrepreneur. Thanks to his leap of faith, he has been able to employ over 500 barbers across all stores nationwide. Legends also continue to support communities by upskilling youth in their established training centers across 16 communities in and around Southern Africa.
Through this partnership, Legends will potentially reach over one million Uber Eats users annually. “We are looking forward to joining Uber Eats and are excited about the convenience that this will afford our customers. We are thrilled to engage with new customers who we were previously unable to reach, said Sheldon Kenneth Tatchell, founder of Legends Barbershop.
“The digital marketplace is a convenient space where businesses and customers connect hassle-free. We are excited and proud of this partnership, especially because it demonstrates the growth of Uber Eats beyond connecting users to merchants selling food. Other areas we have ventured into include convenience stores and pharmacy outlets as well as retail. We are looking forward to seeing Legends Barbershop grow from strength to strength on the app, said Nakampe Molewa, general manager of Uber Eats sub-Saharan Africa.”
