FASA launches important networking events

FASA marked mid-year with a Franchising Feature Magazine in the Sunday Times that went out in print format to its subscriber list and as an online version on its online platforms. Take a look at the online magazine here…
Thanks to those franchisors that supported the feature which gave a very positive overview of how franchise companies are holding their own in trying circumstances and taking the road to recovery.
As outlined in our latest newsletter and in keeping with that ‘road to recovery’ theme, FASA has a jam-packed second half of the year planned with launches and events so, as valued members of the Franchise Association, this is your chance to get out there and network with your franchise peers at the FASA Golf Day, find out how the sector has performed from the Franchise Survey that will be released in September and book your seat to attend the FASA Franchise Conference on the 26th October to get the low-down on the survey and find out ‘where franchising goes from here’ from key government, local and international speakers.
FASA GOLF DAY: Friday 22 September – Randpark Golf Club
Following last year’s successful Golf Day – after a break of three years – FASA is once again holding its popular golf day, sponsored by Absa, on Friday 22 September at Randpark Golf Club. This is the one occasion that allows franchisor members to socialise on a casual basis, invite their franchisees and suppliers to join them in a great game of golf and then celebrate a hard day’s play with an informal prize-giving and dinner.

FASA FRANCHISE INDUSTRY SURVEY – Media Releasing September
FASA will be releasing the highlights of its Franchise Industry Survey and its Franchisee Satisfaction Survey to the media in September. Initial findings reflect the strain that COVID-19, the riots, floods and socio-economic-political pressures have had on franchise businesses but at the same time it has highlighted the franchise industry’s resilience and the franchisors’ determination to remain relevant, provide extensive support to franchisees and find alternate energy paths and to keep their businesses running and costs manageable.
FASA FRANCHISE CONFERENCE – 26 October – Protea Hotel, Balalaika, Sandton
With the theme of ‘We’re all in this together… as we take the road to recovery’, the hybrid conference will analyse the outcomes of the definitive survey on the sector, identify what needs to mitigate the challenges, how to use its collective power to lobby government, commit to investing in education and skills development by creating a conducive and entrepreneurial business environment that can grow their businesses and the economy. International franchise relationship guru Greg Nathan is a key-note speaker and Toby Shapshak of Stuff Magazine will give the low-down on how technology and AI will affect the future of business. To find out more and to book visit Home – FASA Conference and take advantage of our EarlyBird price for in-person bookings before the end of August PLUS a 10% discount on group bookings of 5 or more.
We trust you will involve your whole team and your franchisees in attending FASA’s events. Whilst these events are aimed at the members of FASA, they are also open to the wider franchise community and to the public and media at large that are interested in finding out more about franchising.

To protect, lobby, promote and develop ethical franchising across all sectors in South Africa with specific focus on transformation.
