As stated in the logo, Chicken and Pizza are the main focus. Our pizzas are traditional Thin Base, Wood ﬁred and made with premium, fresh ingredients only. No compromises are made on quality. Gluten Free Option also available.
Our chicken offerings include burgers, wraps, strips, wings, livers, thighs as well as half chickens.
We cater for Vegetarian offerings with our Pizzas and with Halloumi options in the form of burgers and wraps.
Our half chicken, well known as our ‘Chilli Peri Chicken’ and our ‘Thunder Thighs’ come deboned keeping them juicy and soft with the added benefit of being ‘easy’ to eat in a public environment.
What ties all of this together and the secret to our delicious chicken is most definitely our very own, mouth-watering, Peri Peri sauce.
Bird & Co was founded in November 2017 with our first store in Ballito, KZN.

Well-known owner of BBM Café in Salt Rock, Christo has been in the restaurant industry for more than 20 years and has rounded up some of his favorite mouth-watering dishes, bringing the chicken and pizza concept offered through the Bird and Co franchise system.
Previously owned John Dory’s in Ballito Lifestyle Centre which sold after ten years of operating.

Started his career in a well-known 400-seater Portuguese Restaurant in JHB called Calisto’s, where he soon excelled wining incentive 11 of the 14 months worked.
He then re located to Ballito where he start working for local favorite “Mamma G’s”. After a year was given the task of running their Ballito Pro Market stall and there after was given a promotion to Junior Manager. Being the fast learner, observer, and hard worker that Brandon is he slowly moved his way up to General Manager of the store in six months at the age of 22.
Thereafter came across the Opportunity that Bird & Co was offering along with its growth possibilities and has since started and grown the Brand together with Christos to what it is today.
It is very important for us that the Franchisee have an in-depth background in the restaurant industry and a vast knowledge of food and its cooking procedures.
This person would need to have business orientation skills and experience in managing staff and customers.
The need for long hours in this industry is necessary and if the Franchisee wont be a ” work in ” Owner then we would require an experienced manager with the same skills and qualities to run the store at the expected level. This is both for piece of mind of the owner and us, the Franchisors.
Bird & Co train your staff at one of our stores for between 2-3 weeks, your staff will learn from us, our managers and experienced staff members already working in the business.
It is important to find staff with prior experience in each sections field.
From there we will train at your store prior to the opening and be present for a full week or more after your opening.
We will continue to offer support and store visits thereafter to conduct audits and do further training if necessary.
