ABSA, which sponsored various elements of FASA's Franchise Week, including the FASA Awards and the Speakers Corner at the International Franchise Expo, also sponsored FASA's Convention and Banie Claasen, Head Retail Sector and Acquisition Africa, Retail and Business Banking ABSA gave a presentation on why Barclays is the 'Go To' bank in Africa and gave some useful insights into anyone wanting to do business in the rest of Africa.

  AFRICA'S APPETITE FOR LUXURY BRANDS GROW  
 

Recent research by Bain & Company has shown that Africa's growing middle class has expensive tastes and that luxury goods sales will increase by 11% this year – demonstrating the continent's potential for upmarket goods. This has largely been swayed by recent mineral discoveries and the rise of super-wealthy individuals in Nigeria, Angola, Ghana, Mozambique and Kenya.
