KFC AIMS TO HAVE 1 000 OUTLETS IN AFRICA THIS YEAR

With the aim of reaching the 1 000 store mark this year in Africa – with more than 700 of those in South Africa – KFC South Africa has gone on the acquisition path buying equity in its own restaurants with the purchase of 68 sites in Johannesburg, Bloemfontein and Kimberley from Kumnandi Food Company.  According to KFC MD, this acquisition means the group has equity in its own restaurants for the first time in 10 years and marks the company’s commitment to making meaningful economic contributions to the markets they operate in. KFC’s roll-out plan includes expanding throughout Africa with infrastructure, supply chains and the creation of jobs.  Also key to their expansion is their social responsibility programs and partnership with the United Nations World Food Program.
