X2IN5 LAUNCHES SUPPLIER’S PORTAL
In line with FNB’s x2in5 initiative, in association with Franchising Plus and FASA, which plans to double franchising in five years, they recently launched a Supplier Portal that will serve as a platform for the exchange of ideas and goods between franchisors, franchisees and their suppliers. In addition to pertinent articles by experts on trends in the industry, the site will offer a platform for requests for tenders and for franchisors to post specifications for goods and services.  Suppliers, on the other hand, will be able to find out from industry representative FASA on the legalities of acting as a supplier to a franchisor and its franchisees and be able to list their offerings.  Franchisees can also source goods and services their franchisor cannot assist with.  A key element of the portal will be the guidance it will give to franchisors, franchisees and suppliers in line with the rights and obligations as laid down by FASA’s Code of Ethics and Business Practices as well as those governed by the Consumer Protection Act and the Competitions Commission.
